Clerical Officer -Sterile Services Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual as a Clerical Officer, in our friendly Sterile Service Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

You will provide admin support to the SSD team. You will be expected to undertake a range of duties and should be well organised and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of Departments . You must be a good team player who is energetic, enthusiastic, acceptable of change and able to work well under pressure in a busy environment as well as being able to work using their own initiative.

We need you to have excellent communication, administration and organisational skills, whilst attention to detail being a key characteristic. Ensuring that decontamination standards and quality management system are maintained, have a strongly held commitment to high standards of service delivery.


Some of your Day to Day Duties will include:


  • Responding to external and internal queries/complaints and refer to appropriate person if required

  • Completion and reporting maintenance jobs through Estates web based FM First system

  • Understanding and administration of the Quality Management System Documentation

  • Responding to external and internal queries/complaints and refer to appropriate person if required

  • Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Department utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request

  • Data Entry

  • Theatre Checklists

  • Generate Barcodes for New and Loan Equipment

  • Check process of failed cycle reports from the IMS system

  • Completion and reporting maintenance jobs through Estates web based FM First system

  • Completion and reporting of I.T. faults

  • Understanding and administration of the Quality Management System Documentation

  • SSD helpdesk

  • Office equipment

  • Regular equipment / material moving & handling > 10kg

  • Arrange Meeting Venues

  • Organising incoming and outgoing post, referring enquires to appropriate person if necessary

  • Maintaining and filing of reports and results, hard copy/electronic
