There is currently an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious individual to join the General Surgery department as a Bariatric patient pathway coordinator. This post provides an excellent opportunity to further your career as a healthcare administrator working within a thriving and busy service.
We are looking for someone with relevant secretarial experience, who is enthusiastic and willing to learn. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate that you can work well within a multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with patients, administrators, clinicians, managers and staff across the trust. Time management skills are also key as it is essential as you will need to balance the demands of a busy working schedule. The post holder will need to have some prior experience of working within a healthcare administrative setting and will require the ability to learn healthcare systems quickly. The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly. The postholder will supervise and allocate work to the PPC team. The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focussed and knowledgeable point of contact. To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales.
