As Lead Network Engineer you will be supporting over 500 users, you will be an experienced network engineer who will provide UK and global technical network support. You will be responsible for all aspects of the network including: device discovery, configuration backup, configuration change management, complex network operations, compliance , switch management and monitoring. You will work closely with the Head of IT and our IT and Digital teams, supporting all projects efficiently and on time.
· Manage, monitor and maintain all aspects of managed switches including SNMP, VLAN's, Subnets & Strom control.
· Manage, maintain and update firewalls ensuring latest firmwares are applied on all global appliances.
· Proactively improve our network security, suggesting improvements where identified. Actively work with our existing security teams on our SOC/SIEM journey. Assist with internal / external vulnerability and dark web scanning along with SSO configs.
· Windows server support alongside Hyper-V.
· You will be the third point of escalation to the Head of IT, IT and Digital Teams.
· Assist the Head of ITwith our global network standardisation and central management goals with consideration of high availability, failover, load balancing & disaster recovery.
· Implement best practice network security for all our public and privte environments including Azure, AWS and Digital Ocean.
· You will be the third line of escalation for all business critical network related issues outside of standard business hours.
· Monitor network performance ensuring system availability and reliability.
· Proactively review our LAN/WAN/VPN topologies ensuring our services are robust, reliable and cost effective. WAN connectivity should also be reviewed, providing business cases for comparables such as leased line vs MPLS.
Must haves:
· Technical knowledge surrounding SonicWALL, TZ and NSA administration and configuration, including monitoring, administration of interfaces, objects & groups, access rules, NAT policies, routing, zones, VPN, DHCP & DNS, certificates and security & decryption services.
· Technical knowledge surrounding HP Aruba network switch management, including monitoring, configuration and deployment.
· General knowledge surrounding Hyper-V Windows environments and failover clusters.
· Ubiquiti Unifi cloud controller administration and adoption.
Nice to haves:
· SonicWALL network security manger deployment.
· Aruba Central for cloud managed network switches.
· CloudFlare Magic Transit, gateway and zero trust.
· SSH, Telnet and PowerShell commands.
· Demotz network device monitoring.
· Knowledge of network cloud security surrounding; Azure / AWS / Digital Ocean.

Salary: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
