We are looking for an enthusiastic IT and Software Support Engineer to join our software support and development team at our Head Office in Blackburn. A person with some good IT skills who is not afraid of learning new software applications. We are committed to developing our teams and there are opportunities to grow within the business.
IT Engineer / Software Support
The ideal person will have some of the following skills and knowledge which will enable them to be a member of the support team in maintaining, upgrading, and enhancing our IT infrastructure, setting up hardware – printers, pc’s laptops and phones and provide essential software support to our engineers and customers.
Operating systems:
Knowledge on Windows, Linux - Debian and Windows servers and be able to install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
Office software:
Proficient in setup, configuration, and administration of Microsoft Office 365 software i.e., Outlook, SharePoint, One drive etc.
Knowledge with Security software:
Knowledgeable about security software, such as antivirus, firewall, encryption, VPN, and Advanced security features, of Microsoft 365 - Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Azure Information Protection, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, and Windows Autopilot.
Hardware skills:
IT internal hardware - CPU, RAM, HDD, SSD, GPU, motherboard install, configuration and setup.
Networking systems:
Familiar with networking systems, such as LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc., to set up, manage, and troubleshoot network connections and devices.
Customer Support:
- Good telephone and written communication skills.
- Handle support tickets and working with team members in resolving those tickets.
- Migrating and backup of customer databases.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge
- A self-motivated person with the ability, passion, and drive, to work to tight deadlines.
- An excellent communicator both written and verbally.
- Microsoft 365 business premium software Intune, Defender, Azure, 365, SharePoint.
- Setup and using VNC, SQL, database administration tools,
- Networking, RDP, FTP, Windows Active Directory, Office 365 administration, Debian based Linux, Android setup and support.
The role is Head Office based - 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Pension scheme after qualifying period and employee life insurance x4 your annual salary.
