As a POWER CONTROLS AND INFORMATION SYSTEM ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY LEADER in our MEDIA CITY, SALFORD OFFICE, we’ll be looking to you to take accountability for technical solutions and technology development to support our European capital projects, with an opportunity to grow along with our industry 4.0 journey.

Your role will be based from our office in Media City, Salford on a Hybrid basis. This is a permanent role.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
You will build and share a vision for Digital Manufacturing in alignment with the business requirements You will drive Technical mastery in our Engineering team You will lead projects with an emphasis on Digital transformation/Industry 4.0 /Automation scope (e.g. pilots, new technologies, etc.) You will support multiple project managers and enable them to deliver their Digital/Automation scope through extensive knowledge of: Process control strategy and safety strategy System architecture Creating & developing technical documents (URD/FDS/PID) Organising / Managing On-Site Commissioning Verification, test and acceptance of newly built systems against the design PLC / DCS/ HMI / SCADA / IOT You will coordinate our engineering service providers in the field of factory automation to deliver project scope and engineering solutions You will maintain strong links with factories across Europe on current equipment performance You will maintain a technical knowledge base (e.g.: what worked or failed and learn from experience) Identify industry trends and benchmark against competition and equipment that will better meet the Category Business Goals leveraging academia and suppliers’ skills where appropriate Support Capital Projects that require extensive improvement to owned equipment technology or involve significant modification to current installed technology Maintain an accurate and standardised knowledge management database of current assets, capability and know-how of what worked and failed

Your Recipe for Success
You have an Engineering Degree and/or experience either as an Engineer or in Manufacturing Able to communicate effectively, influence others and develop relationships through collaboration to meet the business needs Ability to Set Area priorities and focus, set expectations, provide objective feedback, coach, measure performance, and ensure Area resource is sufficient Budget and plan effectively, proactively solve problems, identify and share opportunities and issues You can collaborate in a team You have a structured and analytical mind You welcome change and see it as an opportunity for improvement You can arrange for things to happen or take initiative when required
