A member of the IT Service Delivery Team responsible for hardware and software Asset Management, overseeing all activities that optimise the value, cost and risk of the asset lifecycle. Managing and monitoring software compliance and maintenance of NNL's IT hardware and software Asset Registers.
The location for this role is flexible and can be based at Risley, Preston or Workington.
Role Responsibility
Main Responsibilities for IT Asset Manager:
- Develop and support the software and IT hardware governance processes and procedures across the business to improve the data, better exploit the assets and deliver benefits and savings.
- Populate and maintain a hardware and software contract and Asset Management database with all relevant information on the licenses and contracts.
- Through the use of the asset management tools, monitor and manage hardware and software assets to ensure the required information is captured and is current and correct and provides a single source of truth ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all IT assets.
- Manage software compliance and license utilisation to ensure the most effective software licence agreements are achieved and that the company is not in breach of its licence agreements.
- Manage any financial and compliance risks and/or issues raised on IT assets through to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Manage the software onboarding process effectively by triaging software requests and providing approvals after reviewing the licence position.
- Build and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships that will support NNL’s ability to deliver its mission, its reputation and remain sustainable.
- Undertake audits of hardware and software assets as required, providing regular reports to management on compliance to minimise the risk to the business.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Criteria for IT Asset Manager:
- Technical expertise with regard to understanding software deployment, management, licensing and contracts.
- Knowledge of ITAM / SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow, Aspera and preferably with project deployment experience (Subject Matter Expert on IT Asset Management and Software Compliance).
- Experienced with analysing and presenting data to management.
- Strong knowledge of IT software and hardware as well as demonstrable experience in working in an IT Asset Analyst or similar type role.
- In depth knowledge of licensing agreements involving software, including Microsoft, Oracle etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years’ worth of UK residency).
Desirable Criteria for IT Asset manager:
- ITIL Foundation or higher.
- An Industry Certification such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management (CHAMP) will be an advantage.
- IT risk management skills.
