A renowned Oil & Energy company located in Manchester is looking for a System Administrator that will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the company’s network, software, hardware and applications. This role must resolve IT issues in a timely manner and will also be monitoring the overall system performance to ensure its smooth operation. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in working in a similar environment and embodies excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities:

Configure and maintain networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications.






Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.






Ensure data is stored securely and backed up regularly.






Monitor system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.






Improve the networked computer system by recommending new approaches.






Document processes that employees need to follow in order to successfully work within the company’s computing system.

System Administrator Requirements:

Relevant degree or diploma in Information systems or information technology.






At Least 3 years of experience working in a similar position or environment






Microsoft MCSE certification or similar.






Good understanding of IT systems and troubleshooting across platforms






Familiarity with SQL and database operations.






Ability to prioritise a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.






Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.






Patient and professional demeanour, with a can-do attitude.
