Founded in 1915, the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) is one of the UK's largest institutions for research and teaching on Russia, the Baltics, and Central, Eastern and South-East Europe. Our mission is to create in-depth knowledge of Russia and Eastern Europe in regional, comparative, transnational, and global contexts, and to promote and disseminate an understanding of our region to the wider world; developing multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and multi-method approaches to knowledge creation and to teaching; and to enhance the development of area studies at UCL and among the wider academic community.

About the role



The Finance and Operations Administrator is a member of the Operations Services Team within the School of Slavonic and East European Studies. This is an open ended role.


To support and contribute to the provision of high quality, effective and efficient financial, resource and facilities management services, administrating and coordinating a range of key business services, operational and processes, including procurement, payroll, staff recruitment, and health and safety compliance.


The post-holder will work closely with and support the Finance & Resources Manager, and also with the School’s Human Resources Officer and other relevant professional service and academic colleagues in the discharge of their duties and functions.



About you



This is an opportunity for a motivated individual with experience of working in Higher Education finance, estates, HR, and Health and Safety Administration. You will interact with a range of stakeholders across the School and the wider UCL community and so will need excellent written and oral communications skills, along with the ability to manage your workload under pressure to meet deadlines. This is an exciting opportunity to join the operations team and contribute towards building a professional administrative support team.
