Assistant - Loan Admin

Operations Services department provides processing support for the front line business units handling trade finance, loan and cash management products. The department also includes the Operations Resilience and Operation Control teams which are responsible for overseeing the Bank's resilience programme and managing user rights for certain systems. As an Assistant Loan Admin, you will be responsible for Loan Administration process drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, preparation of payment instructions, rate fixings, interest and fee calculations and associated administrative work in relation to syndicated and bilateral loan portfolios. You will be responsible for administering the delivery of all functions in respect of syndicated and bilateral loans, providing good operational support and services to Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions and Risk Management departments as well as other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Act as facility agent for syndicated loans and bilateral loans, liaising with borrowers and lenders regarding operational matters
- Analyse available undrawn commitment balance to ensure utilisation is in line with facility agreement terms
- Archive all fully repaid syndicated customer folders and dispose of repaid folders in line with the Bank’s retention policy
- Assist supervisor to submit business requests and perform system upgrade testing
- Calculate, process and reconcile commitment, utilisation fee and charges and liaise with agents/customers of missing payments
- Communicate with the Global Financial Markets department on funds requirements and advise the Clearing & Payments department of funds movements in timely manner
- Collaborate with agents and advise the Bank’s relationship managers on any system issues affecting their respective facilities
- Process drawdown, rollovers, repayments and rate fixing for agency, bilateral and syndication loan business
- Process fund receipts and payments using GUPP, SWIFTMS and WBIFN systems
- Reconcile and process commitment/utilisation fees and charges as well as chase missing payments from agents/customers
- Reconcile journal entries for transactions balancing under the Bank’s system
- Review and analyse legal and loan documents and approvals for new and existing agency, syndication and bilateral facilities
Requirements
- Experience within the Financial Services industry
- Relevant professional qualification
- Knowledge of syndicated loan and bilateral products
- Experience in a similar business stream is desirable
- Able to work with highest level of accuracy
- Team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
