Administrative Assistant

We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. You will be based in our London office, which is located in the City of London, opposite St Pauls Cathedral.
With a passion for administration and supporting colleagues, you will take pride in delivering a first-class service to our staff to provide support to the teams within the branch and nationally. To ensure you thrive in the role, we will provide you with structured supervision and coaching to help you learn and develop within a commercial setting.
There may be a requirement for some client facing work to be done in addition to the core responsibilities. Where this is appropriate, full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Covering a range of administrative tasks including, dealing with incoming and outgoing post and performing data input
- Retrieval operations such as case opening and closing, using a range of IT systems
- Speaking with clients to obtain information about their potential claim and making appropriate notes of conversations
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
- Providing suitable information about a potential claim to enable an assessment to be made as to whether it is something that Thompsons would be able to assist the client with
- Liaise with executive and senior administrative assistants to handle requests and queries from senior managers
Key requirements
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Able to work of own initiative and is always willing to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience of working within an office environment (desirable)
