This successful IT MSP (managed service provider) is looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to be on-site at one of their school clients. The company provides commercial ICT solutions to meet business requirements through flexible and affordable packages.
You must live in an easy commute to the Greenwich and Tower Hamlets school sites.
As an IT Support Technician, you will:
- Be based across two Primary School sites in Greenwich and Tower Hamlets
- Provide efficient and effective technical support service to staff and pupils
- Display a very good understanding of Microsoft Server, Microsoft Client and Office 365
- Be able to work under pressure and systematically in tracing faults.
- Install, configure and test new equipment and network components, hardware, peripherals and software.
- Monitor system performances. Diagnose and resolve software, hardware and network faults and perform preventive and remedial maintenance and upgrades.
- Ensure that the staff are made aware of any technical faults that may affect them or any proposed maintenance and repairs to the system.
- Assist in maintaining a help desk and fault reporting logging system.
- Liaise with appropriate outside agencies and contractors.
- Install and maintain computer cabling.
Specific Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows 10, Server 2016, Office 365
- Previous experience working in a school environment would be of great interest.
- Working understanding of wireless and wired LAN technology
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to build good relationships and communicate effectively
- Hardworking, energetic and enthusiastic
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Realistic and flexible
- Ability to maintain a sense of proportion in stressful situations, be innovative, and use own initiative.
Skills and Education Level
- Educated to 'A' level standard
- Microsoft Accreditation would be an advantage
- Able to pass a clean DBS Enhanced Check.
- Full clean UK driving licence
Employment Hours
Core hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The company has an out-of-hours team, but in emergencies, IT Support Technicians work outside core hours to minimise disruption to the client.
