We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the administration function within the Governance and Scrutiny Support Unit, Legal Services. The post will be based within the Town Hall Extension in the city centre of Manchester
The successful candidate will provide high quality customer focussed, flexible and timely administration support to the service. Dealing efficiently and courteously with tact and diplomacy to all queries and correspondence, both written and verbal from officers and members of the public. You will complete documentation and correspondence accurately and to a high standard, inline with procedures and agreed timescales.
You will be responsible for arranging school admission appeal hearings for the children and families in Manchester and occasional involvement with governance and decision-making functions.
You should have excellent administrative skills including: good keyboard skills, good organisational skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages, in particular Excel and Word. The role requires sound written and oral communication abilities and experience of working within a team environment.
About the Candidate
You are someone who will contribute to the goals of the team through the provision of high quality business support, this will be customer focused, flexible and timely. In this way you will contribute to the achievement of objectives of a fast moving and busy operational service.
You will also deal with parents of school children in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner and provide help to other schools in the city.
