Inpatient Administrator Full Time

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to take on this fantastic opportunity to join the Forensic pathway in River House (medium secure unit) as an inpatient administrator.

We offer excellent support, training, consultation and supervision.

We are particularly interested in hearing from positive, dynamic and enthusiastic applicants who will support the ward and the team in the day to day operations to enable staff to support service users and on their journey to recovery.

To provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Inpatient Service across three wards, Norbury, Thames and Effra

To provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to three Wards in an efficient, effective and courteous manner.

Provide general admin support to the Ward Team (typing, filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning, informal note taking, distributing post, data collection, organising transport).

Uploading information onto the electronic Patients' Journey system.

To support the Team Leader to provide up-to-date data and to ensure that data quality and clinical quality targets are achieved by notifying the Team Leader when the data is not at the required level.

To be fully competent in the use of office equipment within the team base and check they are fully maintained and functioning and report repairs or replacements as appropriate.

Liaising with Works Department as and when necessary to ensure department is fully functional.

To assist in the induction and support of new and temporary staff to ensure the smooth running of the ward.

Liaise with the BDP Patient Information Lead to ensure service leaflets are up to date and available to patients. Ensure Trust leaflets are stocked/ available.

To ensure appropriate use of resources and taking responsibility for the ordering of both stock and non-stock items. Ensuring that sufficient stock is available at all times and kept in a tidy and accessible location.

Dealing sensitively with telephone and personal enquiries from patients, carers, relatives and other professionals in a tactful and polite manner, and taking appropriate action where necessary. Ensuring at all times a high level of confidentiality.

Arranging transport for Patients and liaising with the BDP Driver

To provide cover for Inpatient Secretary during annual leave and short term sickness.
