IT Infrastructure Engineer
Park Cakes is a c£180 million business which supplies cake and desserts to service the own brands of major retailers, there are three sites based in the North West at Heywood, Oldham and Bolton.
Our products include, high end celebration cake products, slab cakes and mainstream desserts, we mostly supply Marks & Spencer’s although we also supply other major retailers.
This is a role for an ambitious 3rd-line engineer looking for a role where you will have full autonomy. You'll join a team of 3 reporting directly to the Head of IT in a down-to-earth, non-corporate environment where it's all about getting the job done; it's a relaxed culture with a great team around you.
Example Job Accountabilities
- Liaise with colleagues on 2nd Line escalations and the network and server side of the business.
- Provide a customer focused service to colleagues on three sites across the North West to resolve any IT problems, although the role is based in Oldham and travel is infrequent
- Provide support over a wide range of IT support to include security, server patching and more
- Manage Servers and Storage Infrastructure by daily review including trouble shooting and resolving any issues
- Scripting of a wide variety of packages
- Managing & monitoring backup solutions
- Support the company with its transition to Microsoft Azure
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- Time-served 3rd line engineer with at least 2 years’ experience, ideally in a FMCG manufacturing or warehousing or similar environment
- Highly Proficient with standard tools such as Active Directory, Office365, and VMware as well as Azure, Palo Alto & other Microsoft Products
- Key experience required for this role: Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, Palo Alto, NetApp, Workspace One (AirWatch), VMware, Server 2019, Cyber Security, Veeam
Hours Hours for these positions are typically 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm on a Friday but flexibility can be given for different start and finish times to suit candidate’s preferences.
Package £41,000 plus benefits inc Contributory pension scheme, Retailer Discount Scheme
