This Opportunity
A 1st line IT support role, often referred to as a Help Desk or Service Desk role, involves providing initial technical assistance and support to end-users within an organization. Here is a list of basic responsibilities that you will grow into.
- User Assistance: Assist staff with technical issues, questions, and problems they encounter with hardware, software, and IT services.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues, such as login problems, software errors, and network connectivity issues.
- Password Resets: Assist with password resets and account unlock requests, ensuring security protocols are followed.
- Software Installation and Updates: Help users install, update, and configure software applications and provide guidance on their use.
- Hardware Support: Provide assistance with hardware issues, including setting up workstations, connecting peripherals, and troubleshooting hardware problems.
- Network Support: Assist with basic network issues, such as connectivity problems, Wi-Fi setup, and VPN access.
- Remote Support: Provide remote assistance to users through phone, email, or remote desktop tools.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for common issues and solutions, as well as user guides and FAQs.
- User Training: Offer basic training to users on how to use software, hardware, and IT tools effectively.
- Security Awareness: Promote and enforce security best practices, including educating users about phishing threats and safe online behavior.
- Escalation: Escalate complex or unresolved issues, ensuring that critical problems are addressed promptly.

Salary: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
