ICT System Network Engineer
Salary - £30,000.00 to £40,000.00 per annum depending on experience.
Job Description
As a leading telecommunication company, we are looking to expand our IT team by recruiting an ICT System Network Engineer to join the business. The role will be based within the UK in our Cheshire office near Frodsham and Runcorn (less than 1 minute off junction 12 M56).
Working as part of the 'Service Management' team providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd level end user support (internal users and external customers) plus system support on the portfolio of all technical solutions we provide across multiply countries and offices. Design and deliver of end to end solutions, using a variety of Microsoft cloud, connectivity & telephony as well as Bespoke/Integration.
The ideal person will be highly resilient, able to remain calm and stable under pressure and have excellent interpersonal skills to provide support for our internal and external end users and applications investigating troubleshooting & resolving issues, assist in upskilling current team members plus work with our Director of Technology developing further capabilities to support an expanding ICT offering to customers.
Job Purpose:
· To provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd Level end user and system support on the portfolio of all technical solutions provided to the internal user’s base and all supported clients. The communication with the users needing support will be either direct, remote access, e-mail or by the telephone.
· The post will require close daily contact with the other members of the team for guidance, upskilling and development.
· Install and configure network switches, routers, Wi-Fi networks and firewalls.
· Set up & Support clients with applications such as Microsoft 365.
· Install and administrate servers, laptops and PCs including operating systems and applications.
· Configure and administrate of the Network Attached Storage (NAS) data appliances.
· Perform system backups and recovery.
· Configure and maintain the company's network and server infrastructure operating systems to comply with corporate polices.
· Provide support in Project Management and Delivery from a Solution design, peer review & client liaison perspective. Resolving technical problems as they arise.
· Supporting Sales Consultants. Creating proposals and quotations. Pre-Sales activities for Bespoke & Integration Practice.
· Provisioning of VoIP telephone solutions.
Assist in developing both internal and our client’s IT policies and directives:
· Maintaining the security and integrity of the company's IT systems.
· Maintain accurate departmental / client records, including hardware assets and software licenses.
· Ensure that software license terms are not breached.
Experience & proven hands-on knowledge:
· Managing end users (includes MACD; move, add, change & delete) with local PC configurations.
· Understand and working knowledge looking after LAN’s, WAN’s WLAN’s.
· Configuring DHCP and DNS.
· Understand the setup and maintenance of network cabling and rack design in the office. Including the configuration of switches and routers.
· management of network-related incidents and service requests (network including LAN, ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, ETHERNET, ECT).
· Setting up and configure all types of desktop end-user equipment and keep the asset management database up to date.
· Virtualisation software (Hyper-V) - using/managing VMs.
· Enterprise server operating systems (OS) (Windows Server 2012R2& Linux).
· Microsoft 365, exchange on-line, SharePoint and Azure.
· NAS - monitoring and storage assignments.
· Network design and implementation including Installation of CAT 6 networks (installing structured cabling).
· Natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, with the ability to resolve network issues of varying complexity.

· Identifies new areas and business processes where Office 365 could be deployed while developing and manages an auditing process for the Office 365 ecosystem for both internal and external customers.
