Assistant Desktop Support Engineer

Salary Guide: £25,000 – £30,000
Our client is a leading Engineering Contractor which operates throughout the UK delivering projects within the water sector and they are looking to strengthen their IT Support team with an Assistant Desktop Support Engineer. Based from their head office in Manchester, with some home working, you will strengthen the current Desktop Support team. You will report directly to the Head of IT and the responsibilities will include:
Key responsibilities:
- Tier-2 End-User Computing Support: Incident Management, Completion of Service Requests, Troubleshooting hardware and software operational IT issues
- Full lifecycle management: Follow the build process to image devices for new starters or replacements. Re-provision returned devices for stock, Disposal of old stock
- Endpoint Management: Ensure Windows and Mobile Devices are compliant to standards
- Line of Business Application Deployment: Technical support of software deployments and packaging (SCCM) for new software requests
- Local Office Technical Support
- Ensure the availability of network connectivity (LAN WAN), Printers, Meeting Room Equipment
- Work within ITIL framework
- Ensure IT support documentation is maintained and up to date
- Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations
- Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback
- Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and sever Technologies
- Passion for high-quality I.T service delivery
- University degree in a Computer related subject (Desirable)
- Knowledge of M365, cloud computing, Azure
- Knowledge of the ITIL ver4 Framework
