What you’ll be responsible for:


· Ensure all clinical correspondence is typed using audio typing and word processing.


· Maintain a high standard of quality whilst producing a high volume of clinical correspondence, in line with the Clinical Correspondence Quality Control policy.


· Collate and provide patient flow information to other colleagues to ensure the patient pathway is maintained and the service required is delivered.


· Complete clinical proformas as required from the correspondence e.g. Inter-provider forms, web based forms.


· The production of spreadsheets for the use in validation.


· Responsible for the collection of information required to support the monitoring of patients on clinical pathways. This involves using a variety of systems and liaising with several departments within the hospital to obtain the relevant information.


· Ensure that complete, accurate and timely data is recorded on the Patient Administration System and other Trust systems as required in line with local policy.


The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above


You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:


· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.


· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.


· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.


You’ll have the following skills/experience:


· General education to GCSE standard


· Experience of working in an office environment in the NHS or similar


· Advanced medical audio typing skills


· System knowledge - Digital Dictation System


· Excellent verbal and written communication skills


· Excellent typing skills


· Medical Terminology


This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years typing/ secretarial experience.
