UST is recruiting for a Resilience & Recovery Lead to join our team in East Anglia, who will play a key role in working closely with business and application subject matter experts to help influence, steer and implement business continuity management, operational resilience, and disaster recovery testing strategy.

About the role: The role requires both business and technical project management expertise to ensure a schedule of business and technical disaster recovery exercises are planned, developed, and delivered to resilience and recovery capabilities. Additional commitment to supporting and influencing the Business Continuity, Operational Resilience and Disaster Recovery policies and related matters

Responsibilities:

• Translating business continuity, operational resilience, and disaster recovery strategy into implementation test exercise plans.


• Maintain the exercise test schedule to ensure it is current and supports the Business Continuity (BC), Crisis Management (CM), Disaster Recovery (DR) and Operational Resilience (OR) plans


• Co-ordinate BC/CM/DR/OR test exercises and walk through with business service owners, core process owners and technical platform leads.


• Execute the IT DR production failover data centre tests with support from third party infrastructure service hosting teams and internal platform run managers.


• Ensure the appropriate level of evidence and assurance materials are gained to support any exercises


• Ensure the development and re-certification of business and technical disaster recovery plans


• Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to satisfy BC/CM/DR/OR requirements Support risk, control, and audit assessments


• Proactive stakeholder engagement and relationship management with Senior Management, Business Service Owners, Operational Risk, Technical Teams and third parties.


• Contribute to management information by issuing post-test reports, capturing lessons learned and follow up actions to an accepted resolution.


• Responsible for driving continuous service improvements by recording and actively resolving issues identified through testing.


• Share best practice insights and knowledge of the complex resilience and recovery requirements, options, solutions, and risk mitigation's.

What you will bring:

• Recognised industry risk or resilience experience (e.g. BCM/DR/ITSC)


• Experience of working with industry standards and best practice in governance


• Risk & control management background


• Project Management experience


• Experience using automated Reporting tools


• Proven track record in implementing and delivering resilience and recovery testing frameworks


• A curious and interrogative mindset with an enjoyment of problem solving


• The ability to build strong relationships across different stakeholders and comfortable providing challenge at all levels


• Pragmatic approach to issues and desire to work with stakeholders to improve risk and controls


• Strong written communication and report writing skills


• Flexible working pattern to support the needs of the business through the weekend for some IT disaster recovery exercises
