Job Summary:





Allied World is building out its application management and support function. We’re seeking someone to join our existing team responsible for managing and supporting our IT AMS Global Team to provide 24/7 support. The successful candidate will need to work closely with our business and internal IT teams and external 3rd party suppliers to deliver brilliant service to our user community. The position requires day to day lights on existing Apps/BI/SharedServices/Reports, as well as experience of new software/function onboarding/support to drive further expansion and evolution of the AMS team.













Job Duties






  • Key member of our global L1/L2 pool, day to day support for the insurance apps/BI/SharedServices/Reports.



  • Progressing tickets and issues to successful resolution in a timely fashion keeping business users and key stakeholders updated on progress.



  • Raising and managing tickets and issues with 3rd party software or infrastructure providers where appropriate



  • Monitoring and regular maintenance of the application suite



  • Troubleshooting issues through tools, audit history, log files, etc.



  • Estimating effort and costs for small changes where required.



  • Communicate complex business or technical issues in simple terms to relevant staff.












Qualifications






Job Requirements:






  • Must be a self-starter with a great attitude, not afraid to take the initiative, and work with little supervision.



  • Ability to communicate effectively with IT, business, and vendor contacts.



  • Analytical skills and the ability to produce and maintain appropriate application support documentation



  • Project/Change/Release Delivery experience within a standard framework; demonstrate and understanding of, and adherence to agreed Change and Release Management protocols and processes.



  • Ability to understand the data flow through the application suite end-to-end



  • Knowledge of London Lloyds and Company based applications, including experience of the underwriting process for various lines of business



  • Keen learner of new functions and keen supporter of automation.



  • Strong understanding of business and system processes.



  • Demonstrate strong applications support knowledge as well as analysis skills ideally within the insurance / reinsurance sector.



  • Enthusiastic learner of new applications, tools and technologies.



  • 3 + years of work experience as an IT system analyst and Insurance Applications Management and Support.



  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.



  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.



  • GitHub, Jira, MS Office, Visio, SQL, Cognos, PowerBI, Data Visualization tool, etc. Knowledge of cloud computing, DevOps, AWS/Azure and 3rd party APIs experience are plus.
