We have an exciting opportunity within our IT department, we are searching for a Head of IT to join Arriva Rail London.
You will lead all of our IT activities, managing one of our most critical teams as well as all aspects of the company's information technology infrastructure and services!
This is a superb opportunity for a proven leader with a strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure, who is looking for a step up into this crucial role.
You will play an instrumental part in the business as a whole!
As part of the senior leadership team, you will be working closely with other senior leaders across the business, supporting the delivery of all short and long term ARL objectives, whilst assisting with safety and managerial governance processes.
As the Head of IT, you will also be responsible for developing and executing an IT strategy that supports the Arriva Rail London's business goals and objectives, working closely with senior management to identify technology-driven improvements for the business whilst also driving digital transformation initiatives.
You will also be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the IT Team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement, whilst managing the day-to-day IT Operations which include service desk, incident management, problem resolution and system performance monitorisation ensuring that the team are adhering to the IT policies and procedures.
Management of the budget keeping track of expenses whilst considering strategic recommendations to ensure cost effectiveness.
You will also work very closely with external vendors which include software and hardware providers.
Implementation of robust information security measures to protect sensitive data, systems and networks from unorthorised access and cyber threats will also be a key responsibility for this role.
This individual will require proven experience working within a Senior IT Management role, ideally within the transportation/ rail industry with a strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Systems and Software which includes network architecture, cloud computing and cybersecurity.
You will also need to have demonstrable experience in driving digital transformation and managing complex IT projects.
Exceptional leadership and team management experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse IT workforce.
A true problem solver, with a strategic mindset, whose focus is to deliver outstanding results.
Educated to a degree level or within the computer science field or equivalent experience.
