About the job:
Supporting the IT Security team in all aspects of IT Security and supporting the delivery of the NIS BPC/Project including, but not exclusively:
- Curating IT security policy and process documentation within the IT department. Ensuring it is maintained and up to date and stored in a structured manner.
- Compliance against NIS & FG standards, identifying of elements of current IT Security and process documentation that is either missing or existing documentation that requires improvement and working with the IT Security Manager to address.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Ensure a schedule of compliance monitoring against IT Security policy, process and standards is developed and maintained within the IT department and other functions as appropriate, produce reports on findings with recommendations.
- Maintain the library of IT ad IT Security Documentation in a structured format and appropriately shared with parties across the business.
- Ensure that supplier security assessments are carried out at appropriate intervals and on engagement for all key IT suppliers.
- Generally, support the activities required to meeting NIS reporting and improvement plans but specifically take responsibility for liaison and reporting for the Engineering/Fleet environment, (including rolling stock).
- Support and contribute to the delivery of organisational objectives
- Administration of IT Security Meetings supporting documentation and follow up actions
- Participate in the process with business support and procurement to ensure that supplier engagement processes have been followed and are up to date for all suppliers of IT systems and services to the SWR business
- Maintain excellent communications and provide regular progress updates with other IT Security team members and appropriate meeting with the wider business.
- Manage safety activities and take necessary action within own area of responsibility to ensure the safety of all staff. This includes working in safety critical locations, near the railway and supervising others in or near these sites.
- Support any franchise/committed obligations within area of responsibility are met.
- Shared responsibility in finding ways to reduce expenditure and ensuring correct solution is identified so costs not incurred unnecessarily.

As a minimum, you will need to have:
- Anticipating & moving pro-actively to mitigate issues
- Working collaboratively with teams at all levels
- Experience with IT Security structured documentation and organisation
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Good inter-personal and presentation skills i.e. public speaking, communicating ideas and solutions etc.

About the location:
South Western Railways HQ is based on the 4th Floor at South Bank Central, a stone's throw from the River Thames and a 10 minute walk from our busiest station, Waterloo. It is local to many well-known attractions, restaurants and retail facilities and is easily accessible by public transport.
Working pattern:
Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days - standard office hours
