IT Operations Engineer Full Time

The Infrastructure Operations Engineer is a hands-on technology role in the team responsible for the management for part of our infrastructure technology estate. Supporting the server, network and client device infrastructure (physical & virtual, backup solutions, some networking and other essential services). Working within a dedicated function you will provide monitoring, resolving incidents, implementing customer requests, and providing operational support & services as part of a wider team.


This role would be suited to an individual who has experience with supporting IT services, someone who has the ability to learn and is enthusiastic about technology.


We are looking for someone who can be dynamic, willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills whilst delivering excellent service to the business.


Key Deliverables/Responsibilities:



  • Supporting and monitoring the infrastructure server and network environments.

  • Responding to incidents from either users or system alerts.

  • Monitoring storage infrastructure, backups, assisting with file restores.

  • Writing knowledgebase documentation, processes and assisting team members.

  • Performing daily checks across a wide range of technology escalating issues.


Experience Required:



  • Candidate must have experience in IT support environments.


Essential Technical Requirements:


We would expect you to have hands-on experience with:



  • Customer service.

  • Troubleshooting IT issues and escalating within a team environment.

  • Managing and monitoring IT services.

  • Proactive maintenance and responding to user incidents.

  • L1 troubleshooting of issues and resolving of alerts.

  • Liaising with managed service platform providers.

  • Understanding and troubleshooting of network LAN and WAN technologies.


Behavioural Competencies:



  • Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements.

  • Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with local and remote teams.

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player.

  • ITIL Fundamentals.

  • Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies.
