Job Description
As our Regional IT Service Management Lead, you will be leading a team of four Regional IT Service Managers and be responsible for overseeing and managing IT services across all our offices outside of London. You will be playing a key part in the Places for Growth programme, ensuring the team delivers high-quality technical support, maintenance, and local IT service management. Additionally, you will collaborate with key stakeholders within DBT, prioritise projects, coordinate work, and develop strategies to enhance the IT service provided throughout the UK. There will be a requirement for occasional travel to sites across the country.
This role is available in seven UK locations and can only be worked from within the UK, not overseas. Most DBT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in the office on average. Changes to these working arrangements are available in certain circumstances but must be agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role and can only be discussed with successful candidates. Travel to your primary office location will not be paid for by DBT, but costs for travel to an office which is not your main location will be covered.

Job description
Responsibilities
A high-level list of the duties attached to the role including any line management responsibilities. Maximum 8 points.
1. Team Leadership:
- Lead and inspire a team of four Regional IT Service Managers.
- Foster a collaborative team culture and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Act as an escalation point for the team and a focus for best practise.
- Represent the team within the department and liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, to understand requirements.
2. IT Service Delivery:
- Oversee the delivery of IT services across the UK, through your team, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
- Develop and establish IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance with organisational guidelines.
- Develop and maintain an IT support model that applies a consistent approach to Service Delivery across the UK.
- Take ownership of relevant IT contracts that impact our regional sites.
3. Technical Support and Issue Resolution:
- Serve as the escalation point for the team, for issues that are impacting our regional sites.
- Collaborate with respective leads within our IT partners and other government departments, to help the team resolve escalated requests, incidents, and problems, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Ensure that we are providing as consistent approach to IT support as possible, across all our offices.
4. Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT projects, ensuring your team achieves on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and meets defined objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships and engage with external partners to procure IT products and services as needed.
- Help to plan and oversee IT roll-outs as part of our IT refresh programme.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimisation, and enhanced efficiency within the regional IT operations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and evaluate their potential application to improve IT services.
Person specification
Essential Skills and Experience
You will need to have demonstrable skills and experience of:
- Experience of managing and/or delivering IT Services within an enterprise setting.
- Experience of managing and reviewing supplier/vendors in an enterprise environment.
- An understanding and evidence of designing and/or working with SLAs/KPIs.
- Incident/Problem Resolution working within an ITIL framework.
- Working with stakeholders at all levels, and across multiple departments.
- Experience of team leadership.
Desirable Skills and Experience
This is not necessary but would be ideal if you:
- Experience of leading teams based in multiple locations.

Reserve List
Appointments may be made to candidates in merit order based on location preferences.
