About The Role
This is a great opportunity to come and work in our highly rated secondary school in central Manchester in an interesting new hybrid role which combines cover administration with cover supervision. It could be a perfect role for someone with great classroom management skills who is looking for an early start and finish to the working day and who would enjoy spending part of their working day out of the classroom in an administrative position.
For the Cover Administrator side of the role, we're looking for an organised and efficient person who's a quick and intelligent learner and who works well under pressure, coming in to work each morning to solve a different set of cover issues.
For the Cover Supervisor side of the role, we're looking for a suitably qualified or experienced person to undertake the classroom supervision of students throughout the school on a daily basis in the absence of teaching staff and to assist, as required, with duties, invigilation and in-class support.
Please Note: As this is a term-time only role the starting salary is £20,910
About the Candidate
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
- Experience and an understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues, or be willing to undertake training in these areas;
- Numeracy and literacy skills at least equivalent to RQF Level 2; good ICT skills are also desirable;
- Ideally have experience of working in an educational setting and have effective behaviour management skills;
- Be professional, flexible and innovative, with experience of undertaking a wide variety of duties and an ability to deal skillfully with unanticipated situations;
- The ability to work under pressure and remain calm;
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well within a team, yet able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised utilising their own initiative;
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks, often with short deadlines and ensuring accuracy;
- Supportive of the school's excellent staff attendance and punctuality record, which in turn supports student attainment.
