IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd)

After the successful completion of the local and hosted setup of our fourth University, we have been looking to increase our custom base in the North.
A self driven (although fully supported) engineer is required to remotely assist our customers in the UK and their remote offices in America, China and France. Based in Manchester, you will be the face of QNS for our Manchester based clients and be required to assist with any on-site requirements. We have a new 365 migration in the pipeline for over 100 users for a new client and the successful candidate will be heavily involved in this.
Responsibilities:- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals- Set up and manage user accounts and access permissions- Respond to IT support tickets and resolve issues in a timely manner- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement IT solutions- Document and maintain IT procedures and knowledge base articles- Assist with the setup and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations- Monitor network performance and security, including firewall configurations and DNS settings
Skills:- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications- Proficiency in computer networking protocols such as TCP/IP- Familiarity with DNS configurations and troubleshooting- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
