The combined staff in UCL LCCOS totals around 440. LCCOS HR Team are responsible for ensuring all HR operational aspects, Operations Administrator, part of a dynamic team that provides a range of HR and Operational services to a large and complex Department of approximately 440 Library, Culture, Collections and Open Sciences (LCCOS), spread across 14 UCL site Libraries, including UCL East and Student center. The LCCOS HR team manages the interaction between the department and central HR services, facilitating all aspects of operational HR administration and HR transactions which includes full cycle recruitment and onboarding. This is a generalist HR role working in a fast-paced work environment, as the team also manages all LCCOS Services full cycle employment HR functions within service level agreements and payroll deadlines.
About the role
The HR Operations Administrator is responsible for full-cycle recruitment and HR functions for the entire employee life-cycle, supporting the day-to-day HR transactional activities and assisting the HR Operations Manager in all HR matters. This includes HR administration, compliance, additional payment, payroll queries, staff records, Advisory, onboarding and offboarding and other ad-hoc duties. The postholder will work closely with all staff across the department, and will work in liaison with Section Heads, Managers, ISD, Finance, Central HR Services and other colleagues across the University and also oversee the service tickets in line with agreed service level. Working closely with LCCOS Finance team and UCL Professional Services Finance team, to ensure that the correct funding is in place for current and future permanent posts and Agency temp. Oversee the monthly overtime payments/toil and additional payments in a timely manner. This is a full-time permanent post working Mon-Fri, 36.5 hours per week. This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20-40% on site. The pattern of on-campus and remote working will be agreed with the role holder. About you
We are looking for candidates who in particular have the experience of working in a Generalist Human Resources Administration role within Higher Education preferably, covering a wide range of responsibilities including managing large volume of full cycle recruitments and HR Advisory. The post holder will be comfortable in working in a fast-paced complex HR department and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to independently manage own workload within a range of competing deadlines. The successful applicant should be proactive and able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in their work, with strong administrative, numerical and analytical skills. The post holder should be able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information or personal data, ensuring GDPR compliance.
