We are looking for an organised, experienced Personal Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others to work alongside our Hospital Director at Cygnet Hospital Bury.
You’ll be working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, helping ensure the safe and smooth running of services for the people in our care. Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents.

Your day-to-day...
- To provide a high quality secretarial and administrative service to the Hospital Director to ensure efficiency in patient care.
- To have an understanding and demonstrate the appropriate need for discretion, confidentiality and professionalism relating to all patients, clinicians professionals and staff.
- To record and prepare draft minutes of meetings, specifying decisions made and follow up action required for subsequent approval by the Hospital Director and any other necessary staff involved
- To handle telephone calls and face-to-face enquiries providing information and directing and prioritising queries as appropriate.
- Manage Hospital Director’s diary to ensure effective time management.
- Manage Hospital Director’s mail, responding where appropriate and directing/prioritising effectively.
- Attend meetings, as required, to ensure effective communication with all service users.
- Promote Deaf issues within the service and other professional settings.
- To abide by the communication policy of the service and to develop own sign language skills to CACDP level II
- Develop knowledge of the Deaf language, culture and community as a linguistic minority group.
- To champion Deaf access and accessibility around care, rights of treatment, and advocacy.

You are...
- You have a minimum of 12 months P.A. experience.
- Flexible, organised, able to prioritise workloads, solve problems & make decisions
- Calm under pressure & can work under your own initiative
- A strong written & verbal communicator with an eye for detail & excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Windows & the internet
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
