TM Fortis Solicitors Ltd is a fast-growing, well established firm (5 minutes’ drive from Manchester City Centre), specialising a full range of legal services including personal injury claims, immigration, property, family law and wills. We are now looking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join our busy team.

  • This is a great opportunity to work at a successful and established solicitors practice.

  • This is an office-based role

  • Successful candidate will have to do secretarial work (dictation in particular)


Duties/ Responsibilities:


A good basic understanding of procedure and practice in all legal matters would be ideal and preferred. The ideal candidate will need to be able to work under pressure, hold excellent client care skills, work well with others in the firm, and be well organised.


Duties will include but not limited to: -



  • Audio Typing

  • Diary Management

  • Opening client files

  • Assisting Clients with enquiries

  • Email and call management

  • Administration upon client files

  • File closure and archiving

  • Other duties assigned


Skills and experience required:



  • To be considered for this role prior experience in a law firm environment is preferred, working in a similar position.

  • To be able to work under pressure and in a busy department

  • Having the experience to be able to support fee earners with their caseloads

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a service-driven team environment.

  • Proficiency in operating IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.


This is a busy demanding role, but in a small firm that is friendly and supportive.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above or equivalent of

  • 1 year experience in a Law Firm preferred but not compulsory as training provided

  • Ability to work independently & as a team member in a fast-paced environment


The firm has clients from a broad range of ethnicities. The ability to speak an additional language is preferred but not essential.
