Role Overview


The IT Infrastructure Manager role combines the essential components of leading the senior engineering team to deliver best of class BAU IT support to the business; being an effective solutions provider to enable the business in the digital space and collaborating with IT functions across the wider Bupa UK digital services divisions.


The role will involve the management of both BAU and project activities and working closely with other members of the IT management team on continual service improvement plans. The role will be a blend of hands-on technical activities and team/process management.



What you’ll do:



  • Managing the day-to-day BAU IT infrastructure operations.

  • Working in a collaborative fashion with other members of the IT management team to deliver digital services to the hospital.

  • Work in a collaborative fashion with the wider Bupa Medical Provisioning IT function.

  • Stakeholder management with colleagues within the wider business community.

  • Vendor and supplier management.

  • Always maintain a strong Customer focus.

  • Responsible for the security of Bupa and Patient data.

  • The successful candidate will inspire and mentor junior staff to improve their understanding of and competence in technology within a clinical environment.



What you’ll bring:



  • Preferable previous experience of working in the healthcare industry.

  • Demonstrable experience of leading senior engineering teams.

  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems both EUC and Server OS.

  • Demonstrable experience with VOIP systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of collaboration applications such as MS Exchange and Exchange OnLine.

  • In-depth understanding of VMWARE Version 6-7.

  • In-depth understanding of Cisco networking products and administration.

  • IT project delivery.

  • In-depth knowledge of backup and restore systems.

  • Experience working with Hyperscale public cloud services.

  • Experience with cyber security tooling (end point security for both EUC and Server).

  • Ability to problem solve within the technical environment.

  • Prior experience in a 2nd or 3rd line IT support management role.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Enterprise architecture experience.
