IT Technical Support Apprenticeship Full Time

Brief overview of the role: Working on our busy service, as an apprentice you be part of the IT support team responding to IT incidents via our ticketing system for our end users. These can relate to both software and hardware issues covering OS's, Cloud technologies and Networking.


Working week: Monday to Friday. 830-1730.

Vacancy description: No two days are the same on our busy service. This apprentice role offers variety across a range of technologies and you will form an important part of our service desk team giving IT support to our end users. Via our in-house ticketing and triage system, you will respond to IT incidents both remotely and in-person. These incidents could be related to cloud services, networking or general hardware issues. Responding to tickets, you will use a range of communications techniques to resolve the IT incident including Damesware, Teams, email or over the telephone. We operate a range of technologies across the IT estate including Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, Cisco and Damesware. As an apprentice you will receive training in all these areas to increase your knowledge base and ability to resolve technical issues. As a business we run Windows 11 as our OS. You will also have the opportunity to carry out software testing, fluke testing and cable testing as part of your development strategy.


Requirements and prospects


Qualifications Required: Grade 4/C in both English and Maths and a related IT qualification.


Desired skills: You should be able to demonstrate your interest in IT as an IT hobbyist, this could be building custom PCs for instance or running a server at home to host platforms.

Training to be provided: Level 3 - Information Communication Technician CORE MODULES The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required to be a successful Information Communications Technician. The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available. Computer Fundamentals & Security Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security, and troubleshooting. Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services An introduction to the fundamental cloud concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking modules, devices, and protocols. Communication in Support Support in IT requires good communication skills. Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support.


Future Prospects: Potential full-time role upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.
