Role Overview

The Ideal IT Controls Specialist is an effective team collaborator who is responsible for assisting in the execution and completion of UK SOX Project for Savills Plc for countries within the role remit. Reporting to the Group Director Global SOX & Group Director Finance Systems the IT Controls Specialist will be a hands-on member of the Global SOX team and will take a lead role in the global UK SOX Project from IT Controls perspective. This will include active participation in the IT Process Walkthroughs & Documentation, Controls Design/Documentation & rollout and thereon Control Monitoring to assess SOX readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute all phases of IT SOX assurance under UK SOX Project


• Create the scoping and risk assessment.


• Create IT SOX documentation, including risk and controls matrices and process flowcharts, and evaluate controls as new systems are developed or processes change.


• Ensure that controls are properly designed for all in scope processes and global entities.


• Perform IT SOX testing including design & operating effectiveness testing over ITAC & ITGC , remediation test work to assess UK SOX readiness.


• Advise on best practice automation of business controls.


• Provide technical guidance and advice to control owners for remediation of internal control gaps.


• Ensure any control gaps are remediated and re-assessed by end of UK SOX project.


• New System Implementation


• Liaise With System Implementation Teams and ensure that:


• A proper audit trail is being maintained for the system development life cycle.


• Application and general controls are fully compliant, automated, and aligned to best practice.

Key Skills

• Internal audit background with a strong focus on SOX and IT-related internal controls,


• CISA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent certification.


• Solid understanding of SOX and internal control concepts (e.g., COSO, COBIT)


• Strong written and inter-personal skills.


• Strong communication skills presenting internal control and risk matters in an understandable way across various forums and levels of the organization with the right level of detail.


• Multi-client, commerce experience


• Proven ability to lead audits and manage audit teams


• Excel and Visio proficiency


• International experience


• Strong oral and written communication skills, including sound presentational skills.


• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a virtual/international team.


• Adaptable to working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment


• Striving for continuous improvement and optimization.


• Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of having strong control framework in place.


• Flexibility in resolving issues and addressing changing priorities.
