Job Summary


Salary: Competitive - Depending on experience


Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week


Location: 33 Grosvenor Place, London, SW1X 7AW although may need to travel to other sites


Contract: Permanent

What are we looking for?


We are recruiting for an Imaging Systems Administrator (PACS) to provide high quality, comprehensive and efficient administration support services to all imaging system users. You will act as a first point of contact for all Picture Archiving and Communications (PACS/VNA), Radiology Information System (RIS), Cardiology and other CCL digital technologies queries to ensure continuity of patient care at all times.



Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Clinical & Diagnostic Services, the Specialist, PACS is responsible for maintaining the PACS and RIS systems throughout CCL facilities/satellites, physician offices and the main campus as necessary.



What will your duties include?


You will coordinate and work closely with external vendors, Radiology, Cardiology and other ancillary department personnel as well as internal technology and application Caregivers as needed to facilitate installation and resolve ongoing support issues. Supporting all internal and external providers in the use of PACS/VNA, RIS and third party Systems. You will ensure data accuracy of patient information on all Clinical Imaging Systems and that daily administration of reporting workstation, checking event logs, correcting any errors in patient study data in line with department protocols.



You will have a complete understanding of local rules and Imaging Services departmental policies and procedures. Additionally you will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the following specialised system (indicative list only and non-exhaustive):




  • Terarecon



  • Brainlab / TraumaCad



  • Orpheus CAST



  • Nuance PS 360



  • Zeiss (Ophthalmology)



  • Syngo VIA



  • Syngo Dynamic



  • Digitiser



  • CD burning software used to produce CDs of patient images



  • CR software used in the post processing of plain film



  • Workstation used in the post processing of MRI



  • Workstation used in the post processing of CT



  • Orthopaedic electronic templating software used to pre plan operations such as hip joint replacements



  • Other Third Party DICOM systems




Act in accordance with, contribute and be involved in revision, training and implementation of departmental and professional policies and procedures such as:




  • Health and Safety including risk assessments.



  • Radiation Protection Procedures



  • Ionisation Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 (IR(ME)R)



  • Quality Assurance Programs



  • Clinical Governance



  • Information Governance




What we need from you?




  • Any Imaging / IT Certification



  • Professions Council or equivalent IT/Healthcare experience required



  • PACS Administrator training



  • ITIL or PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent



  • Can be a Professional Member The British Computer Society(BCS), The Chartered Institute for IT or knowledge of all PACS applications including information management image management and archive management.



  • Ability to be on-call and travel site-to-site as required.



  • Systems and Server Management is essential.



  • BSC Computing / Radiology or Equivalent OR IT Certification



  • Five years experience with Radiology workflow and or IT Clinical Systems Manager .



  • Experience with UNIX, Linux , Windows and Windows Servers, Novell, SQL applications Microsoft Office PC



  • Anywhere Netscape Navigator and Communicator.
