No doubt you have learned a lot already at university, are you ready to put it into practice at IKEA?

Our placement programme is structured to give you the chance to make an impact across a wide range of digital domains, from Product Development through to Project Delivery, as well as Information Security and Service Operations. From day one, you will be working on projects that matter, whilst getting the guidance and development to help you discover your potential.

We are looking for enthusiastic 2nd year students /undergraduates to join our Digital/ IT team on a 12-month placement programme starting in July 2024 on a full-time basis working 39 hours per week.



The UK and Ireland Digital team are responsible for ensuring IKEA Digital products and platforms are delivered with excellence to meet the needs of customers across our market, to enhance the whole IKEA shopping experience and to enable co-workers with the Digital tools and capabilities they need to do their best work.



On your placement you will be involved in the delivery of projects for our 22 stores across IKEA UK & Ireland, digitising and growing our business through innovation and change initiatives, you will be exposed to Agile methodologies, project management principles as well as change management processes.

The role will be varied but exciting and you will have the opportunity to work across Digital teams and business partners, building your skills and learning about and applying your knowledge in disciplines such as analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, project delivery, testing and systems support. We encourage you to be innovative and to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to our team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:



  • Being an active member of the Digital team, supporting key IT initiatives






  • Participate and even own the delivery of small changes or projects that may arise




  • Participating in requirement gathering and translating these into IT deliverables




  • Support Information Security routines and assessments




  • Owning and implementing support changes across the store estate




  • Working with cross functional groups across our Head Office including Customer, Food, Marketing, HR, and many more




  • Ensuring the projects we are working on deliver business value and that we can measure this



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:



  • Students in their second year of university studies, where the course includes the option of completing a sandwich placement before returning to study after the placement. Preferred degrees in Information Technology disciplines.




  • An intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge accepted ways of doing things.




  • Those that can work as part of a team, be a great communicator and enjoy delivery and fast paced change.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:



  • 2nd year students on a sandwich degree




  • On track for at least a 2:2 (preferred degrees in Information Technology disciplines)




  • Eligibility to work and live in the UK at the time of joining.

We are offering a competitive salary of £26,500.00
