Here at Innovative Technology, we have an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Administrator to join our talented team at our global head office in Manchester.


Our Opportunity


In the role of Purchasing Administrator, you will act as the first point of contact for all purchasing requirements within the business providing high quality, professional administrative service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring enquiries are efficiently and courteously handled.


Your Role:



  • Raising purchase orders for stocked parts, as well as non-stock items to meet the requirements of the business and (where possible) uploading orders via the Data switch program.

  • Reviewing open orders on the system, updating the purchase order with delivery information and delivery dates once confirmed, closing off any cancelled orders, advising sales and warehouse of parts short for sales orders.

  • Reviewing upcoming purchase order deadlines amending delivery dates advised by suppliers as well as chasing shipments and advising the stores team of shipments.

  • Adding part numbers and amending information relating to parts in Syspro.

  • Working with the development team to update suppliers of modifications/new releases of parts.

  • Arranging purchase and distribution of components to China and Brazil factories for forecast builds.

  • Validating bill of materials and requesting approval from Management/Director level.

  • Booking in shipments and booking items from direct shipment into stock and advising sales so the order can be dispatched, booking air/UPS freights into the ERP system and transferring sea shipments into GIT warehouse, and generating a barcode listing for stores to scan in on arrival.

  • Processing cash requests, ensuring quantities and denominations are correct, ensuring that the system is running correctly, speaking to software about any issues, stock checking currencies, auditing bags that have been given out, and maintaining the organisation of the money in the safe.


Essential Skills & Experience:



  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar role.

  • Proven ability to offer high levels of service in person, over the phone, and via email. with the capability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.

  • Friendly with a flexible approach, coupled with demonstrable organisation and prioritisation skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.


Desirable Skills:



  • A business Administration qualification or similar.

  • A keen interest in finance processes for example accounts payable and accounts receivable.
