About This Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the UK’s largest universities and help deliver the University of Manchester’s vision to become a world leading university. Supporting the delivery of this vision will be the authentication, directory and identity management services which are managed and developed by Identity and Access Management (IDAM).
You will be working in a team of 8 to provide directory, identity and access management
Services to over 50,000 students and staff.
IT Services are looking for a highly technical System Administrator to be a part of our highly-skilled and ambitious IDAM team. You should possess in-depth knowledge, hands-on experience in the technologies we support.
In return, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills and work in a large organisation providing enterprise level identity and authentication services.
Essential role requirements:
- A high level of knowledge and expertise maintaining and administering in Open Source systems;
- Knowledge and understanding of LDAP.
- Knowledge of Open Source federation technologies such as Shibboleth
- Recent web development skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of enterprise level IT identity lifecycle management
- Knowledge and understanding of OpenLDAP
- Open Source System Administration qualifications.
- Experience working with a large enterprise distributed computing environment
- Ability to learn new technologies in order to help support some of our existing services
