Linux Systems Administrator / Senior TechOps Engineer
What You’ll Do:
- Manage & Administer datacenter and AWS cloud infrastructure
- Be highly proficient in Linux and Scripting
- Manage networking devices including cisco switches and ASA firewalls
- Manage network services e.g. VPN, DDoS protection, CDN, load balancers and WAF
- Manage infrastructure devices - servers, storage arrays and associated hypervisors and OS’s e.g. CentOS/Debian, KVM
- Infrastructure services DNS, SSO, directory services, file and print, SIEM and log management
- Work close to NOC teams to execute day to day tasks such as IP whitelists
- Administer and maintain Hardware Monitoring using Prometheus/Grafana
- Able to assist with infrastructure/application specific configurations and optimisations e.g. MySQL databases, Kafka message queues
- Ensure firmware, software and OS patching is completed on a quarterly schedule to N-1
- A key member of the security working group interpreting/applying policies and controls, assisting with audits to ISO27001 standards, collating logs, etc
- Operate in a DevOps culture, ensuring maximum automation (e.g. IaC and automated configuration management using ansible)
- Constant performance optimisation ensuring hypervisors, storage, loadbalancers are performing optimally
- Maintain your roadmap to deliver continuous improvements
- Confident with business stakeholders from commercial, product, data and technical to understand their future needs.
- Able to identify and highlight key risks
- Maintaining a hardware/Software asset register
- Participate in an on-call support rota
About you
An experienced, yet hands-on Senior TechOps Engineer able to thrive in a fast-growing business where change is constant. You will have full responsibility for TechOps covering Datacenters, hypervisors, storage, networking and cloud. Providing operational support to ensure minimal customer impact. Advise on strategy and recommend technologies via an evolving roadmap.
