System Engineer II, Healthcare IT Full Time

As a global leader we’re looking for a System Engineer II to drive success as part of our Consulting team. You will be joining the team responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of the Oracle product (Cerner Millennium). We are looking for someone with a technical support or problem-solving background and hands-on experience using Linux or UNIX-like systems, and Oracle databases. The position requires good understanding of technical concepts and excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

What you will do

  • Operate independently to provide quality work products to an engagement.
  • Perform varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgement, to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs.
  • Apply Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.
  • Demonstrate expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. May act as the team lead on projects.
  • Effectively consult with management of customer organisations.
  • Develop and configures detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
  • Provide support for testing and conversion activities and flexibility in working irregular hours.
  • Prioritise work in alignment with the needs of internal and external customers; adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrate good judgement in routine, day-to-day decisions; know when to make a judgement call vs. advance.
  • Willing to travel up to 30% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems and Management Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in system engineering or technical consulting work experience using Linux or Unix-like systems and Oracle Databases
  • Vendor qualifications (Oracle, Microsoft, Citrix, VMWare, etc) is desired
  • Experience with Cerner Millennium is desired
