Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH4 £24,248pa to £25,138pa with potential to progress to £27,181pa on achieving designated skills and experience (pro-rata)
Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: MacLaurin Building, de Havilland Campus, Hatfield
Main duties and responsibilities
To undertake a range of general administrative duties relating specifically to the host department. To ensure accurate and correct completion of department-related administration in full compliance with legal and University requirements.
The post holder will be required to support the Section Heads in a range of duties within the Systems and Surveys and Academic Quality Assurance teams with a particular focus on attending to administrative tasks relating to external examiner activities.
Skill and experience required
Applicants should be highly motivated, proactive, flexible and enthusiastic individuals. Accuracy and attention to detail are key requirements within this role.
You will have relevant administrative experience in an organisation and experience of working in Higher Education administration is desirable.
Your application will evidence good IT skills and that you are numerate and literate. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care with a polite, helpful and confident manner. Tact and diplomacy, with the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality is crucial.
You will be required to work flexibly and adaptably, being effective in a team setting, with a can-do attitude. You will have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, processes and institutional culture and be proactive in promoting change.

Qualifications required
Educated with a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalents, including Mathematics and English at grade C/4 or above, or proven professional work experience.
