Senior IT Support Engineer Full Time

The role



Reporting to the IT Support Lead, you will be responsible for providing an outstanding level of IT support to the employees of Sharkmob. You are a senior technical problem-solver and have experience within mostly Windows-based environments. You have commercial experience working in a fast-growing company within an IT Support Function.




Responsibilities



  • Primary end-user support contact and local escalation point for our office-based and remote London team.

  • Provide technical mentorship to team members and stakeholders, elevating their capabilities, and serve as a subject matter expert in end-user training initiatives.



  • Good interpersonal skills as there can be a lot of in person desk side support and the ability to deal with people off all levels is key for this role.



  • Collaborate with the wider IT team to provide remote support across the Sharkmob organisation and aligning IT solutions together with global team to enhance productivity and user satisfaction.

  • Maintain and upgrade IT equipment, including network, AV, servers, and Build Machines.

  • Support applications and systems such as Microsoft Office, VPN, Mobile Phones, SVN and video conferencing systems.

  • Work with standard IT support tools including but not limited to: Active Directory, Office 365, antivirus, Imagine, encryption, SSO, identity management, MDM tools like Intune.

  • Monitor and manage the IT ticket queue to ensure SLAs are achieved.

  • Ensure onboarding and offboarding processes are handled correctly in a timely manner.

  • Manage the IT assets through their entire lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.

  • Gather and translate user expectations to technical solutions.

  • Create and update documentation using a wiki (Confluence).

  • Champion user-centric innovation by actively gathering and translating user expectations into forward-thinking technical solutions, elevating the overall IT experience.


Requirements



  • You have a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

  • You are a passionate, service-oriented team player who possesses excellent organisational skills.

  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information.

  • Great understanding of Windows operating systems.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, administration tools and email systems (AD, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft 365).

  • Basic understanding of internal networks (routing, DNS, DHCP, etc).

  • Good knowledge of IT security and best practices.


Bonus points



  • Experience with software development systems including JIRA, Confluence, Perforce.

  • An interest in computer games, and game development.
