The IT Retail Engineer at Sephora UK, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of retail systems. With a focus on store deployment, technical mentorship, and vendor coordination, this position combines technical expertise with strong communication and teamwork. The IT Retail Engineer will lead hyper care efforts, maintain knowledge bases, and contribute to the ongoing success of our retail operations, making an essential contribution to our customer-centric retail experience.



Key Responsibilities



  • Store Deployment and Upgrades: Collaborate closely with the IT Systems Manager to assist in the deployment of new stores and the execution of ongoing system upgrades.

  • Mentorship and Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to the IT Service Desk team on technical issues, policies, and procedures related to retail systems.

  • Point of Escalation: Act as a point of escalation for the Service Desk team, assisting in resolving complex technical issues related to store systems.

  • Knowledge Base Management: Create and maintain knowledge base articles to facilitate efficient issue resolution and knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Training Delivery: Conduct training sessions for Business Analysts (BAs) to ensure a deep understanding of store system functionality.

  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with manufacturers/vendors to procure new equipment and resolve any hardware or software issues promptly.

  • Effective Communication: Maintain timely, professional, and effective communication with customers, partners, and internal teams.

  • Hyper Care Leadership: Take a leading role in providing hyper care support to stores following their opening to ensure smooth operations.

  • Multi-Focus Role: Occasionally work on head office and warehouse systems, but the primary focus will be on retail systems.

  • Travel Requirement: Be willing to travel to various locations across the UK for store deployments and system upgrades.

  • Testing and Maintenance: Conduct testing of new functionality and features in our store lab to ensure they meet quality standards. Ensure that store systems are well-maintained and kept up to date.

  • Technical Expertise: Possess experience with network patching, PXE image deployment, and Point of Sale (POS) installations. Experience with SAP and Vynamic POS would be a benefit, though not a strict requirement.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).

  • Previous experience in a retail environment with retail systems for at least two years.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel.

  • Technical certifications or training related to retail systems is a plus.
