IT Technician Required for a Secondary School in Enfield



We’re looking for a talented individual to provide an exceptional business support service to our client, a Secondary school in Enfield. As a key member of the business support team, your expertise will help to deliver an outstanding learning environment for young people.


The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and specialist technical skills. You will have extensive experience of delivering outstanding customer service and possess the ability to develop relationships across the school and community.


Typical duties:



  • Procure, install and manage educational and office software as needed

  • Procure, install and manage educational and office hardware as needed

  • Procure ICT consumables in a timely manner to avoid temporary loss of ICT facilities such as printers and copiers

  • Ensure effective value-for-money when procuring ICT resources for the school, in conjunction with Star Academies Central ICT Team

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of ICT resources across the school

  • Ensure the reliable and high-quality delivery of ICT systems to support efficient learning in the classroom

  • Provide training to staff as and when needed to ensure the safe and effective use of software and hardware

  • Provide ICT training to learners, parents and staff as needed

  • Deliver enrichment activity for learners outside of school hours

  • Promote the safe and innovative use of ICT, including outside of school – particularly with respect to the internet and social networking

  • Support the induction of new staff and learners, with respect to the use of the range of ICT within the school.


Person Specification



  • Qualifications or training relating directly to IT

  • Evidence of continuing professional development

  • Previous experience of supporting IT use in a school

  • The ability to manage an IT network effectively

  • Ability to procure, install and manage educational and office software

  • Ability to deliver IT training to small groups of staff

  • An absolute commitment to safeguarding and delivering the school's acceptable use of IT policies.
