We are looking for a talented and experienced Group Financial Controller to lead our central finance team and drive financial excellence across the organisation.
As the Group Financial Controller, you will lead the central finance team (shared services) to deliver accurate, timely, and efficient payroll, transactional, and financial reporting services. You will be accountable for the financial control environment of the Group, advising on risk areas and mitigating actions. You will mentor, coach, and advise the shared services finance team in the implementation of these responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Leadership: Align the central finance team to key objectives, support and motivate them, and foster an inclusive business environment.
- Management Reporting: Support month-end management reporting, ensure accurate balance sheet checks, and manage risks and opportunities.
- Transaction Management: Oversee payroll processes, supplier payments, and lead the Accounts Payable and Cashbook team.
- Group Forecasting: Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, maintain cashflow forecasts, and advise on working capital optimization.
- Year-End, Statutory Reporting, and Tax Strategy: Implement accurate accounting policies, deliver annual statutory accounts, manage financial audits, and oversee tax strategy.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve key objectives.
- Risk Management & Controls: Assess and mitigate financial risks, introduce guidance and policies, and maintain control environment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with 6-8 years of relevant industry experience within a control-led environment.
- Experience leading a team and demonstrating process improvement and change implementation.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience delivering company audits.
