You'll work closely with the Senior Social Media Officer to evaluate performance, optimise our approach, and share valuable insights with the wider team—ensuring our social media drives impact and reflects our brand.
With a knack for storytelling and an eye for engaging content, you'll help us connect with our audiences and grow our online community. You’ll know how to keep our followers engaged, excited, and valued, ensuring our channels thrive.
You’ll manage a content calendar, test new opportunities, and track performance to continually improve our social presence. Supporting colleagues and volunteers, you’ll provide advice on managing online communities and help teams across the organisation make the most of social media.

What we want from you
We’re looking for someone that has experience in managing a multi-channel social media calendar and experience in producing high-quality written and visual online content in a consistent brand tone of voice. With a passion for digital communications, you’ll be well versed in social media best practice and be able to identify new content formats and platforms to engage our audience. As such, you’ll need to have some experience in creating assets for social media, whether that’s static images, videos, animated gifs, or audio.
You’ll be a self-assured and self-motivated person, comfortable working collaboratively with teams across the organisation to deliver eye-catching content within a balanced content calendar. With experience advising and empowering colleagues to use social media effectively, you’ll help them meet their own objectives while ensuring our channels remain engaging and impactful.
Data-driven and results-focused, you’ll be comfortable in using insights and reporting to refine and improve our social media strategy continuously. Whether working solo or as part of a team, you’ll bring creativity, adaptability, and a proactive mindset to help Prostate Cancer UK make a bigger impact online.

Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
At Prostate Cancer UK we’re committed to righting health inequalities across the UK, starting with those faced by Black men. This includes ground-breaking research into Black men's risk and working with communities directly to overcome barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. To make this happen, we're dedicated to being an inclusive, proactive organisation, as we strive to be Allies to Black communities. We’ll achieve this by advocating and working alongside those communities to promote change. We're also working to be Allies to each other, not only protected groups. In 2024, we launched our New Ally Ship Training Programme. All colleagues at Prostate Cancer UK will be trained to act and identity as an Ally.
We've also signed Business in the Communities Race at Work Charter, as a dedication to our Black health equity work and wider EDI priorities. As a signatory, we're responsible and accountable for driving positive change.
Our people networks
We’re continuously learning more about the needs of our colleagues, and have three amazing People Networks, sponsored by our Leadership team:
- Pride – A safe space where LGBTQ+ colleagues — and our allies — can share their diverse lived experiences, celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and history, and create new ideas about how our organisation can be more inclusive and representative of LGBTQ+ people
- Mind & Body – Here to increase awareness, promote wellbeing and support colleagues affected by neurodiversity, mental health problems, disability and long-term illness
- Culture Club – Here to increase awareness and celebrate the different cultures and beliefs that we have in the organisation, so that we all have our cultures felt and feel welcomed
Wellbeing and hybrid working
Our hybrid working approach combines the best of flexible working – a positive work/life balance, inclusive and accessible platforms, and online information at our fingertips. We understand that everyone has different needs, and we strive to create opportunities for relationship building, collaboration and social time.
Each of our teams has a team agreement outlining when and how often we’re expected to be in our London Bridge office. We’re very welcome to work there more frequently. Office time is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.
For this role, we would expect the successful candidate to be coming into the London office one day per month.
