IT Services Manager

This is a full time, permanent post – 36 hours per week

Salary will be between £53,516 and £55,859 inclusive, per annum We are looking for an experienced individual to lead the development of our IT services. You will have the experience of running a similar sized network as well as managing and developing people. You will be good at both the ‘on the ground’ problem solving required as well as understanding the precise educational and business demands placed on IT infrastructure and hardware in a large, high-performing college and school setting. Another key element will be to work with the Head of Digital Development to ensure that the networks, hardware, software and permissions are the best they can be - that they work well and are as future-ready as possible. Further, you will have vision, enthusiasm and a predilection for continuous thinking ahead so that the Trust cannot just meet, but anticipate, the growing and diverse requirements placed on its IT provision. The College is part of a strategic partnership with Imperial College London and staff from Imperial are involved in the running of the Trust and development of the Imperial College London Maths School. The salary will be in the range of point 33 – point 35 on the sixth form college support staff salary scale, which will be £50,264 – £52,607 gross per annum, depending on experience. In addition, £3,252 Outer London Weighting will be paid. We also offer an attractive pension scheme and annual leave package. The closing date for applications is at 9.00 am on Wednesday 2 April. Requirements:
- Relevant degree in IT (or equivalent), or industry experience
- Substantial experience managing a comparable network in an educational setting
- Experience of managing people effectively and overseeing their professional growth and development
- The ability to learn quickly about new services and products
- The ability to plan significant network developments in the light of organisational requirements
- Experience in prioritising tasks for self and others
- Excellent communication skills personally and in writing
- The ability to train colleagues in how to use IT efficiently and securely
- Understanding of the likely developments in the educational use of IT and a commitment to meeting students’ as well as organisational needs
- A calm, logical approach to diagnostic work and problem-solving
- An interest in education, student progress and the wider work of the Trust
- A keen sense of responsibility to the organisation and its students
- Willingness to work flexibly when required
