To provide specialist nursing care in maintaining and developing a quality service for H&N and Thyroid cancer patients To take the key worker responsibility for a caseload of patients requiring specialist nursing care. To provide specialist training as required to support staff, ensuring the provision of high quality care in the most efficient and safe manner in accordance with Directorate and Hospital policies and procedures To support band 7 CNS in setting up nurse led clinics and in service improvement and in the smooth running of the service To see patients in 2WW and follow up clinics and ward. To support patients in decision making regarding their treatment To support patients and families affected by H&N Cancer To undertake Holistic needs assessment for Head and Neck patients. To actively participate in MDT (Thyroid and Head and Neck) To work closely with other health care providers including wider oncology, District Nurses, GPs, Palliative team.
Must have flexibility to travel between City and QMC campus to support patients as required. Flexibility and willingness to undertake home visits if needed. To take part/ support in Team's Annual reviews as per Trust policy. To undertake necessary courses or attend study days relevant to the role.
