The role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Billing Manager to oversee the billing function within our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, handling Salesforce approvals, addressing billing queries, and leading a team to ensure efficient and accurate invoicing. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to maintain positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Salesforce approvals

  • Responsible for overseeing Finance approvals of sales opportunities in Salesforce in line with 24 hour SLA, ensuring proper documentation.

Customer queries

  • Triaging customer queries into Credit Control, Billing team or Sales as appropriate
  • Responsible for team responding to all customer queries within 10 day SLA, escalating to internal departments as necessary.
  • Escalation point for complex billing queries with customer, with ability to talk through all customer billing and contracts directly with customer to resolution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients to address billing concerns and improve customer experience.

Invoicing

  • Overseeing invoicing process ensuring accurate and timely invoices to customers across eight different companies.
  • Responsible for raising credit notes to fix customer invoicing, ensure proper documentation of billing transactions.
  • Generate reports showing expected and actual invoicing on a monthly basis, to ensure completeness.

Reseller management

  • Work with Sales and renewals team to ensure customer aggregators (councils, learning authorities, resellers) are reconciled by account before invoicing

Managerial

  • Training and developing team of four billing specialists

The ideal person

  • Proven experience in billing, invoicing, or financial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce and billing systems (including Netsuite)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
