About the role

We are searching for a passionate and experienced Site Services and Network Engineer to join our Digital and Change Directorate at Haringey Council. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our site services and network infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability, ensuring exceptional user experiences for our residents and staff.

About the team

You will be joining a forward-thinking Digital and Change Directorate that is dedicated to driving digital transformation across Haringey Council. Our team is committed to developing robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions that align with the Digital Service Standard and organisational goals. We work collaboratively, facilitating meetings, workshops, and sessions with stakeholders throughout development and testing phases to ensure alignment and clear communication of progress and requirements. Our team places a strong emphasis on innovation, continuous improvement, and the adoption of modern development tools and methodologies. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with internal digital teams and external partners, contributing to initiatives that achieve the Council’s corporate objectives and meet the needs of our citizens and businesses.

About you

You are a highly skilled network engineer with strong expertise in site services and network infrastructure. You possess demonstrable knowledge of best practices in network design, implementation, and maintenance. Your technical expertise includes working with third-party data sources/APIs, SSO with M365, SharePoint document integration, and site search tools. You are proficient in applying structured and documented methodologies to facilitate the transparent and efficient development of complex applications. Your role will involve leading the design and development of large and complex programs, overseeing the creation and amendment of programs, and ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to best practices in network engineering. You will also develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, review and approve specifications, and ensure comprehensive documentation of all work. As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide colleagues, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
