Lead Accountant - France

Clarivate is seeking to hire a dynamic Lead Accountant to join our growing, global Accounting and Controllership team!
This is a permanent role within the Group’s International Controllership and Accounting function with specific responsibilities for our five French legal entities. The global finance function continues to develop as the group integrates acquired companies. Challenges ahead for the successful candidate include ensuring continued adherence to the group’s reporting timetable, maintenance of controls and a continued drive for increased quality and efficiency of reporting.
The jobholder will be accountable for the effective and timely delivery of the monthly close activities and supporting the associated reporting for the relevant business groups, assisting with the production and submission of local statutory and compliance requirements, including the preparation of the monthly FEC files, and meeting the quarterly reporting requirements for the Clarivate Group.
The role requires strong relationship building with business finance, corporate functions, internal & external audit, and within the shared service centre community and is critical in ensuring that all revenue, costs, commitments, assets, and liabilities are accurately recorded on a timely basis. This role will provide support and control of the business units’ balance sheets and ensure that the financial statements reflect local and international standards as well as complying with the Sarbanes Oxley recommendations.
The role reports to the Senior Manager, Accounting for France and is based in the greater Paris region, Barcelona, or London.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- Qualified accountant (or by experience)
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong financial and management accounting background
- Comprehensive knowledge of French GAAP and good understanding of US GAAP
- Working knowledge of French fiscal and social tax declarations
- Excellent analytical review skills
- Effective interpersonal communication as a good interlocutor
- Fluent French and English speaker
- Experience within a large global services organisation
- End to end accounting process understanding
- Comfortable with working autonomously
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong customer focus work ethic

What will you be doing in this role?
- Support the entire statutory audit process for the French companies
- Support the delivery of the monthly close activities for each company under remit
- Balance sheet and P&L monthly flux analysis
- Production of key supporting schedules for balance sheet and P&L
- Maintain the FEC files for the five French legal entities
- Coordination with centralized process teams
- Support monthly tax and social compliance and filings
- Support ad hoc projects

This role reporting into the Senior Manager, Accounting for France working as part of team of 3 and part of the wider controlling and accounting department..
Hours of Work
Full-time, permanent role based in France on a fully remote basis or on a hybrid basis from either our London or Barcelona offices
