Location: London About Our Team We are looking for a highly collaborative, driven and results-oriented Director, Global Communications help shape and execute key programs and initiatives in support of the Corporate Markets business segment at Elsevier. This role reports to the VP, Global Communications, Corporate Markets and Health, and will be instrumental in elevating Elsevier’s position as a trusted partner to customers and driving a positive culture for employees. As a key member of the Global Communications team at Elsevier, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across regions and cultures and shape programs that have an impact on reputation and commercial success. You will work closely with senior business leaders, collaborate with colleagues on business strategies, and be rewarded for outstanding performance. About the Role The Director, Global Communications will oversee the development and delivery of integrated communications, including product PR, thought leadership, executive communications, internal communications and measurement/reporting in support of the Corporate Markets business. - Developing and delivering integrated communications, including product PR, thought leadership, executive communications, internal communications, and measurement/reporting for the Corporate Markets business.
- Managing our global communications agency to ensure effective delivery on priorities.
- Supporting the development and effective delivery of Elsevier’s integrated communications strategy for the Corporate Markets segment, serving R&D-driven corporations across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, and chemicals.
- Leading the development of internal communications for the Corporate Markets business globally, including townhalls, monthly business updates, and organizational change communications.
- Creating engaging written content for use across various channels and mediums, including long-form content, human interest stories, video scripts, executive scripts, and social media content.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, brand/marketing/advertising, or corporate/public affairs.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, including expertise in various writing formats and editing.
- Extensive experience in developing and managing integrated communications campaigns.
- Solid experience in developing and delivering impactful employee communications that drive culture.
- Demonstrated skills in presentation and written communications, with an understanding of how to connect with an audience.
- Strong experience in impact evaluation using metrics and data, and translating analytics into actionable insights.
- Ability to establish, lead, and maintain collaborative and cooperative working relationships within and outside the organization.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with agility in adapting strategies and tactics.
- Proficiency with web and social media platforms and applications.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
